Hello, I’m John, the owner and maker behind JB Bagstore.co.uk.
After a 20-year career in manufacturing, I embraced retirement as a chance to delve into my long-standing interest in making things by hand. What started with the purchase of a sewing machine quickly blossomed into a deep passion for crafting durable and elegant pieces that embody sustainable fashion, combining practicality, quality, and craftsmanship.
My professional background spans toolmaking, electrical retail, and working as an underground fitter—roles that instilled in me a sense of precision, problem-solving, and a respect for well-made products. These values now inform every stage of my creative process.
Originally from Warsop in Nottinghamshire, I now reside near the historic Bletchley Park with my wife and two Labradors, who often keep me company in the workshop.
Each item I create features unique bag designs that are thoughtfully crafted and meticulously made, reflecting both my engineering background and my commitment to producing high-quality, handmade bags.
