Hello, I’m John, owner and maker behind JB Bagstore.co.uk.
Following a 20-year career in manufacturing, I embraced retirement as an opportunity to explore a long-held interest in making things by hand. What began with the purchase of a sewing machine soon developed into a genuine passion for crafting sustainable fashion through durable and elegant pieces that combine practicality, quality, and craftsmanship.
My professional background includes experience in toolmaking, electrical retail, and as an underground fitter — roles that taught me precision, problem-solving, and a respect for well-made products. These values now underpin every stage of my creative process.
Originally from Warsop in Nottinghamshire, I now live near the historic Bletchley Park with my wife and two Labradors, who often keep me company in the workshop.
Each item I create features unique bag designs that are thoughtfully designed and meticulously made, reflecting both my engineering background and my commitment to producing high-quality, handmade bags.
